The First Timeline
Note: In the "once upon a time" chapter arc in the law of gravity, there is time travel and alternate timelines intersecting and, well, it can be a bit confusing. So this is an outline of the First Timeline (chapters 11-12 of said fic). This is full of spoilers if you haven't read that story!

2007
|
January 29: The timeline diverges from the current. Recon One go to explore P70-800, but John and Rodney are killed by an Ancient device. The details about the mission are ordered to be hidden by the SGC, including video footage (filmed by Ford) and translations of an Ancient log, but some of it circulates the City's intranet the following days. Lieutenant Kemp makes a copy of the data and hides it on a USB stick.
February 11: Recon Four go on a mission to M18-098. MacGrimmon is injured in an explosion and DeSalle is taken by a Wraith Dart.
Sometime this year, Lorne is promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and made the new Commanding Officer of Atlantis' military contingency.

2007-2008
|
Sometime during this period, Cowen is assassinated by his own people and the Lantean-Genii Peace Treaty is nullified. A Recon Team is killed, burned alive, but no one finds the answers. A few months later, Yates' team (AR-13) is attacked by the Genii on a rocky moon, leaving him the only survivor. Traumatized, Yates goes to Earth, leaving the SGC behind.
The Genii begin using atomic weapons against human populations in a vain attempt to slow the Wraith down. An open war begins between the Genii and the Tau'ri. The Apollo under command of Colonel Ellis is sent to neutralize the threat. The Genii go underground. In late 2007 or early 2008, Dr Weir dies after Atlantis encounters the Ancient Replicators (Asurans) and starts a war with them. Atlantis is attacked and the Aurora fights the Replicator fleet in orbit long enough for Atlantis to flee to a new planet, Atlantica, with Major Lorne in the City's Chair. The City is damaged and many people injured or killed. Mr Woolsey takes over as leader of the Expedition. |
2009
|
Teyla's son Torren John (T.J.) is born in Atlantis, New Lantea, as the first baby born in the City for thousands of years.

2011
|
December 20: The U.S. military policy "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is officially rescinded.
December 21: The SGC dials Atlantis, on New Lantea, sending a message from General O'Neill about the good news.

2012
|
June: MacGrimmon marries Dr Potts.

2013

2017
|
Emma turns four years old.
Te'reem is Culled by the Wraith, and the Orion, now under the Expedition's control, is sent to assist along with the Daedalus and teams on the ground. MacGrimmon and Kemp help with evacuating people to the Alpha Site and they reunite with Daar. The Orion is destroyed.

2019
|
Recon Four "retires" from being an active team, though they retain their designation as a team thanks to a new tradition that Captain Ford tries to uphold.

2020
|
MacGrimmon's parents die and he goes to Earth but misses the funeral. He mourns with his younger brother Jonah.
This year, a new General takes over the SGC after Landry.
There is a leak which leads to the declassification of the SGC. People are afraid and outraged, there are riots and nations clash. MacGrimmon and many others in Atlantis try in vain to send messages to his family. Senior staff are recalled to Earth. By now, Dr Beckett is dead and Dr Keller leads the medical team. Woolsey still leads Atlantis and Lorne commands its military. Captain Ford, Teyla and Ronon go to Earth to defend Sheppard when allegations are made that the dead CO is a murdered for sparking the Wraith-Tau'ri War by unknowingly waking them from hibernation. Civil and international wars break out on Earth for control of the Stargate.

2021-2022
|
The Ori find out about life in the Milky Way and send their fleets for a crusade. With Earth so caught up in its own wars, it is too late. Ford warns the new General of the SGC, Henderson, that they must evacuate Earth. It's too late. Ori attack Earth. O'Neill, Carter, Jackson and Teal'c die trying to get people through the Gate to safety. The Daedalus is in orbit over Earth, fighting the Ori, the crew commanded by Caldwell going down with it. Odyssey also fights and is destroyed. Some people, including family and friends of the Atlantis Expedition, such as MacGrimmon's brother Jonah, manage to get to Atlantis with the Aurora and other ships.
In the wake of the Ori Crusade, Atlantis loses contact with Earth. Some time later, the Apollo now under command of Colonel Meyers makes a fly-by of the Earth's Solar System. There are no signs of life.

2028
|
Atlantis is declared its own independent Citystate. They begin a new reckoning of time, Atlantis Reckoning, based on when they first discovered the City in 2004 CE (making that Year 0, the new starting point). They make a democratic council and vote Teyla their neTravelers (Species/Culture)w leader. By now they are allies with the Travelers.

2031
|
The Tau'ri-Wraith War is still ongoing. For a time, Atlantis runs a naquadah mine on M22-535, based on the Ancient mine there. After three years they destroy it so that the Wraith cannot use it.
Bates dies during the War when leading a team aboard a Hiveship to sabotage it; they succeed but die with it. A memorial is held in the City's Chapel. |
2033
|
Atlantis is known in the galaxy as a hub of safety. They trade regularly with the Travelers and others, and Traveler ships sometimes come in to land on the larger Piers. Recon Teams exist but are much more mixed and have different objectives. The Tau'ri-Wraith War continues. This year, a dozen or so marriages are held, and fifty babies are born. Colonel Ford is the commanding officer of Atlantis.
Emma Gladys-Kusanagi is now part of the Aurora crew, commanded by Colonel Hailey.
Teyla Emmagan dies a natural death, celebrated by her people in the Athosian Ring Ceremony, and there is singing and dancing. Ronon writes an elegeia for her, and Colonel Ford holds a speech.

2037
|
Colonel Ford dies and Colonel Olsen takes over as commanding officer of Atlantis' military and security. Ronon, the last surviving member of Recon One, leaving Atlantis with some Satedan survivors to resettle on Sateda, which is being rebuilt. The Atlantis marines see him off.
Gladys finds out she has multiple sclerosis, which the Expedition still has not found a cure for.
The Aurora is destroyed defending a planet from being Culled but the crew survives, most of it anyway, and a million lives are saved. Emma joins a Traveler ship led by an old Commander Larrin. But after only months, the Traveler ship is destroyed by the Wraith, killing everyone onboard. It takes weeks for the news to reach Atlantis.
Kemp discusses time travel and what in the past to change with Miko and Gladys, revealing the evidence he hid thirty years earlier about P70-800. Others are in on the plan (Herschel, Markham, Potts), and the City itself help calculating how to get back in time using a solar flare and a Stargate's wormhole intersecting on another. Kemp then tells MacGrimmon about the plan, who agrees to try it. They Gate first New Athos, and from there, at a precise moment, they dial P70-800 and travel thirty years into the past. Their actions there spawns a Second Timeline.
Because two interfering Ascended beings, this (First) timeline is also altered a little bit when MacGrimmon et al return to their future:
