Hailey is a Lieutenant in the US Air Force. She is a dedicated, very bright officer with a strong interest in astrophysics. In 2001, when she was a Cadet at the Air Force Academy, she attended a lecture by Carter and corrected an error, making herself visible to Carter who took her to the SGC so that she could see a possible future if only she could reign herself with a bit more discipline, her greater weakness. Then Hailey met O'Neill and several scientists exploring an offworld site.
Upon graduation, she formed a team-in-training with Lieutenants Elliot, Satterfield, and Grogan. They excelled in an live-action exercise where SGC pretended that an alien incursion had taken place and Daniel Jackson was "possessed" by an alien device. General Hammond endorsed them. While the others eventually gained places on off-world teams, Hailey and Grogan did not. As the F-302:s were completed she was trained to fly them, and she partook in the Battle of Antarctica against Anubis' fleet in 2004, under command of Lt Cameron Mitchell, as part of the 1st SFW (Space Fighter Wings), also nicknamed Snake Skinners. After the battle, Hailey returns to Cheyenne Mountain to work as a Science Officer for a time. Historythe law of gravityIn the future of an alternate timeline, Hailey comes to Atlantis and joins the Expedition, presumably with her team, AG-18 although under different circumstances than in the current timeline. In that future, as a Major, Hailey takes command of the Aurora. She continues that command as a Colonel. In 2033, they fight a Hiveship above a planet about to be Culled. She saves her crew by evacuating them in F-302s and Jumpers, but stays behind herself. Over a million lives are saved when she rams the Aurora into the Hiveship, the final act of both herself and the Ancient Warship.
endex Work in progressIn 2007, Hailey is finally chosen for an off-world team along with Satterfield, Weissmann, and Lovejoy, to become AR-18. They are a new generation of Air Force and Marine Corps personnel to join the otherwise marine-heavy Atlantis Expedition. The plan is for Hailey and the other airmen to be part of not just Recon Teams but also be useful aboard the Aurora and as Jumper and F-302 pilots. Thanks to her previous experience, being a good scientist, with many technical smarts, and a fast thinker, Sheppard plans on letting Hailey lead the team.
They are shipped to Atlantis via the Daedalus, and are put through an exercise on the Alpha Site as staged by Sheppard and his more experienced marines. The exercise goes wrong, however, when the Tau'ri are ambushed on P22-917. |
