The Ancients evolve as a single species on planet Celestis. Growing more advanced, they develop space-flight. The First War between the Ancients and the Ori causes the Ancients leave their home galaxy behind in a ship capable of FTL but not hyperspace flight. They arrive on a planet they name Terra in the Milky Way galaxy (Avalon) after several generations of flight, choosing the galaxy because of its distance from the Ori. On the way, they may have encountered the Asgard, and begun to develop the idea of Stargates. When they build their first generation of Stargates as designed by Amelius, they launch a number of Seeder Ships into the universe as well as a greater ship, unmanned, planning to one day go after it to explore more of the universe. Later they create the second generation Stargates in at least one galaxy, the Milky Way, but possibly also Ida, the Asgard home galaxy. (These are the Gates first found by the Tau'ri in 1927 CE, and used by the Goa'uld.) Sometime before the evolution of other sentient life on Earth, the Ancients are struck by a plague, possibly sent by the Ori. They manage to survive and begin seeking Ascension while seeding life which will evolve into humans. The first Cityships are constructed after the Ancients have introduced the ATA-gene to control their technology, possibly more paranoid after the effects of the plague (and, later, in Pegasus, the emergence of the Wraith).
7 298 542 BCE
Start of construction of the Cityship Atlantis (named Atlantus by the Ancients) in the Milky Way galaxy, perhaps on Earth (Terra).
~1 500 000 BCE
The Ancients leave the Milky Way in Atlantis and perhaps many other Cityships for Pegasus, where they seed life and build third generation Stargates, which are the most advanced Gates known.
On Earth, early humans are slowly evolving (Homo Erectus), their evolution possibly sped up by the Ancients. |
ca. 12 000 BCE
The Wraith evolve artificially as a human-Iratus hybrid species, as a result of Ancient tampering and experimentation. The survivors eventually flee and migrate to the Wraith Homeworld. The Wraith adopt a language of their own, reminiscent of Ancient, as well as their own organically grown technology and ships, governed by their biology and social structure centred around a Hive Queen. The first Queen is named the First Mother. The Wraith known as Guide is born around this time.
ca. 11 000 BCE
ca. 10 000 BCE
The Wraith are numerous and powerful enough to wage open war with the Ancients, who are caught off guard. The Wraith come out of hiding and begin culling worlds freely. The Ancients are outnumbered.
The Sanctuary is established and hidden by the Council of Elders Who Walk the Way of Peace, an offshot of Ancients who believe in peace and non-violence as the only solution. The Sanctuary is a place to live and Ascend without war.
8 105 BCE
The first Wraith Siege of Atlantis, also known as the Long Darkness and the Ever-Night. Atlantis is sunk to the bottom of the ocean on Lantea by the Lanteans, the last surviving Ancients known. By this time, all other Ancient Cityships have been lost in the War.

The Asurans rebel against their creators and attempt attacks on human settlements. Their planet is bombarded from orbit by the Ancients in retaliation, presumably to the Replicators' ruin. Many Ancient Warships are sacrificed from the Wraith-Ancient War effort.
8018 BCE
Iaphyx is born.
8 000 BCE
Icarus and Sau are born.

Iaphyx is killed by the Wraith aboard an Ancient Warship.
7981 BCE
The Evacuation of Atlantis to Earth, also known as the Exodus. Icarus leaves a secret message in Ianus' hidden lab in the City. Ephesia takes the Warship Aurora into deep Wraith-infested space in hope to find a means to win the Siege, but does not return, the crew of 105 people lost. The Warship Tria, Captained by Helia, is damaged in battle, but continues flying at near-lightspeed toward Terra. Dr Weir (from an alternate timeline) is found in the Timejumper built by Ianus, along with Dr Zelenka and John Sheppard who are both dead; a plan is devised to keep the City shields intact until the Expedition can find the City. Ianus and Icarus follow the other evacuees while Weir stays behind.
After the Evacuation, the Wraith reign supreme and unchallenged over the Pegasus galaxy. |

The Genii lose much of their power and previous knowledge, but set to rebuild their way of life while living under the guise of simple farmers on a single planet (Genii Homeworld).
