Acastus Kolya
|
Acastus Kolya is a Genii. He works in the Genii Government, under rule of Cowen, as the Military Commander.
Historywe are the raven and the ghost | this is the uprisingThe Genii attempt to make an alliance with the Lanteans in order to access their technology and firepower such as C4. The Genii are developing atomic weapons which they plan to use to fight the Wraith. The Alliance is broken very quickly after a single mission together to infiltrate a Wraith base (a Hiveship in hibernation) to steal a data device to be able to track Wraith ships in the quadrant. One of the Genii is taken, presumably killed, by the Wraith. Cowen, the Genii leader, and Sora, the daughter of the lost Genii soldier, blamed the Lanteans and especially Teyla for this.
Some months later, Kolya leads a strike force to take the City of Atlantis when its defenses are severely weakened by a massive Storm, causing them to evacuate the Expedition to Manaria. The Manarian leader Smeadon lets the Genii know about the coming Storm. Kolya leads a Strike Force to take the City. Only a small team remains in the City, including Sergeant Miller and Jenkins, who are killed by the Genii upon entering the City. Kolya holds Weir and McKay hostage, and to get the information how to save the City from the storm he touches McKay's Daemon with his bare hands - a thing which is taboo and very painful. In retaliation, Sheppard, who at first is willing to negotiate to get the Genii out of his City, goes on a killing spree and defeats the Genii, hindering some 57 soldiers sent as reinforcements from reaching the City by raising the Gate shield. In the end only a few manage to escape, including Sora. Kolya tries to take Weir to the Genii Homeworld, but he is shot in the head by Sheppard before reaching the Gate. nou ani atlantusIn late 2005, Cowen and Ladon Radim meet Major Sheppard and Teyla on the Alpha Site to negotiate a Lantean-Genii Peace Treaty. According to Cowen, Kolya was the leader of a Rebel Faction and had many supporters, but some of these supporters saw the light and returned to Cowen, such as Radim.
