Guy Kemp

Guy Kemp is a Lieutenant and part of the Original Atlantis Expedition. Kemp is born in January 1979 in Colorado, U.S. His father and grandfather before him were both marines, so joining the Corps was "the thing to do" to honour that heritage. He grew up moving from base to base all across the States.
He was recruited for the SGC in late 2004. There are rumours as to exactly why, and if perhaps there was an error in paperwork, since Kemp doesn't seem to have a particular or unique skill set. Nevertheless he has stayed with the SGC and the Atlantis Expedition, and he is very loyal to Dr Weir and their CO, Sheppard, despite a rocky start. He is part of AR-4 (formerly SG-19), J.J. MacGrimmon's team. Kemp can be a bit of a joker and a clown, often at his own expense but sometimes at other's, too. He has a bad habit of crossing limits (which once upon a time led him right into Lance Corporal Glady's fist). Despite this his team is loyal and protective - a team has to be. Kemp always tries to keep everyone's spirits up, and usually is very light-hearted, so whenever he is acting out of sorts his team gets concerned that something's wrong, especially J.J. - Kemp being downtrodden is often a sign of trouble. Historywe are the raven and the ghost | this is the uprisingKemp is hand-picked for the Atlantis Expedition after joining the SGC, and meets his future team in Cheyenne Mountain on August 11, 2004. He is eager to leave for Atlantis.
Kemp takes part of the Uprising, defending the City against Everett's attempted takeover. nou ani atlantusIn 2005, the Genii contact the Lanteans asking to make peace. Kemp and his team meet Cowen and Radim on a neutral world and makes sure they are unarmed before escorting them to the Alpha Site for negotiations. According to MacGrimmon, Kemp tells the Genii a vivid story about the Wraith attack on Atlantis and the City's destruction and their evacuation to their new home on the Alpha Site.
When Icarus tries to take control of Colonel Sheppard, Sergeant Bates has AR-4 guarding Sheppard. The second time Icarus possesses Sheppard, he hits MacGrimmon and AR-4 reacts, Gladys hitting the Ancient with a Stunner. Afterward, both AR-4 and Sheppard are shaken up, and the Colonel comes to apologize to them, especially MacGrimmon whom he hurt. He also tells Gladys that she did well stunning him, and Kemp says to his teammate, in effect, 'I told you so', because Gladys had worried the move would end badly. seeking antebellumKemp and his team join AR-1 and AR-9 when they explore M31-927 in early 2006.
Some weeks after the mission, AR-4 and AR-9 return to Earth via the Gate for leave. When Snow goes missing, Kemp and his team take part in the investigation. He and his team help rescue Snow from an abandoned industrial site in the outskirts of Washington, D.C., and accompany the injured marine to a hospital in D.C.. At the hospital, a fire breaks out and Athena attempts to get rid of Snow before he can recover enough strength to talk and she stabs MacGrimmon, but she is stopped by the other marines. Kemp and the others are transferred to Cheyenne Mountain, where they stay for a time while Snow and MacGrimmon heal from their injures. There he meets David Sheppard and presumably his fiancée as well. Before leaving Cheyenne for proper leave, Kemp is one of the marines rotating to keep an eye on McKay, following Ford's orders. McKay is annoyed about this. As they're in the Mess Hall, the doctor asks if Kemp is that marine who almost set the kitchens in Atlantis on fire during the first year. Kemp denies any such accusation. In the Mountain, Kemp and Gamble take part in the video conference between Atlantis (Dr Weir, Colonel Sheppard, Sergeant Bates) and the SGC (General Landry), where they discuss the situation surrounding the Ba'al clone held in custody on Earth. the law of gravity Work in progressKemp is hand-picked for the Atlantis Expedition after joining the SGC, and meets his future team in Cheyenne Mountain on August 11, 2004.
In 2005, he and his team go on a friendly mission to Te'reem to help the locals with harvest. In return they get a portion of the grain. Kemp, DeSalle and Gladys do the heavy lifting, while MacGrimmon is talked into watching over the children by Elder Piatos, the leader of the people of Te'reem. Kemp teases him about it. They return to the City with the grain, and are greeted by Johnson, Jenkins and Miller, and Kemp says they should have a party to relax because Miller never lets his hair down. Five days later, the Great Storm hits the City and they are forced to evacuate to Manaria. Kemp returns to the City with the other evacuees after over a day to find out that Jenkins and Miller have been killed by the Genii. Kemp manages to get his hands on security footage detailing how Major Sheppard defended the City, but MacGrimmon catches him watching it and tells him to get rid of it. In 2006, early August, Kemp and his team go on a mission to M20-999 to trade salt for grain. Kemp brings a camera, planning to photograph the auroras on the planet. A snow storm forces them to stay overnight, and a local woman, U'ua, takes the marines in. Kemp takes a family photo with U'ua and her family, and she insists the marines are in the picture too. Later that month, AR-4 are ambushed offworld by Wraith. MacGrimmon is stunned but saved by Gladys. In late August, AR-4 explore a planet with a Spacegate when a Dart shoots at their Jumper, disabling it, and they crash onto P57-081. Gladys is injured, and Kemp a bit bruised up. They are rescued by AR-1. Afterward, Gladys is promoted to Corporal and there is a party. |
