Daryl* Markham is a Sergeant (E-5) in the USMC. He and Stackhouse are very close and often hang out. Markham is part of AR-7, with Rutherford, Yamato and Thompson. After Thompson's death in 2005 they continue as a three-man team, until spring in 2006 when they are joined by a new member of the Expedition.
After learning to fly Jumpers, Markham instructs some civilians with the ATA-gene, including Dr Kusanagi, how to control the Puddlejumpers. Historywe are the raven and the ghost | this is the uprisingSince he possesses the ATA-gene, Major Sheppard is teaching Markham how to fly the Jumpers. He joins AR-1 on its first mission, to the Wraith Homeworld, and he and Stackhouse are stuck in the forward section of the Jumper when it jams in the middle of the Stargate. Since they are inside of the event horizon, Stackhouse and Markham have no idea they have been trapped for nearly thirty-eight minutes when they finally emerge on the other side.

Markham and his team go to Earth on leave at the same time as AR-4 and AR-9 in early 2006, and also Olsen's team (AR-2). Neither AR-2 or AR-7 become involved in the investigation into Snow's disappearance. the law of gravityMarkham joins the SGC at the same time as West, Thompson and MacGrimmon, recruited by Major Hurst in 2003. They train together on Earth and on the Alpha Site before being assigned different duties in the Mountain. During one exercise on an uninhabited planet in the Milky Way, Markham is shot by a zat'nik'tel. In 2004, Anubis attacks Earth, and Markham is in the Mountain with MacGrimmon and other SGC personnel waiting to hear the outcome of the Battle of Antarctica. He joins the Atlantis Expedition and meets Sergeant Stackhouse.
In an alternate future, when Don't Ask Don't Tell is repealed in 2011, Markham comes out and is in a relationship with Stackhouse; they get married in Atlantis in that future. In this first timeline, Markham and Stackhouse relationship ends with Stackhouse's death somewhere before 2037. When Kusanagi, Kemp and several others device a plan to rewrite history by going back in time, Markham joins them. The repeal of DADT also happens in a second timeline, but two years earlier, and Markham and Stackhouse come out in that timeline as well. obsessionalAR-7 are stationed for a time on the Alpha Site with the "rookie" team AR-13, led by Captain Yates. The Captain being there makes Markham tenser and nitpickier than usual, according to Yamato at least, who teases Markham that he needs to get laid or get a girlfriend. (At this time, Markham hasn't come out to his team yet.)
Since Atlantis is supposed to have been destroyed by the Wraith and its existence kept secret from new allies, the Alpha Site is the link between the Expedition and Pegasus. While AR-7 are there, Tholus contacts them and tells them the Tau'ri on Tholus are being held hostage. Yamato, Rutherford and Markham return to Atlantis with the news. |
